1948 Pontiac Torpedo Eight De-Luxe
This one needs some work, but with a little TLC, It can be a great addition to anyone's collection. I believe all of the parts are present except for some lights that go in the grille.
Not sure what happened to this one, but it was repaired at some point with LOTS of glue! Fortunately, most of it was white glue, so it was fairly easy to remove. The body and paint are in very good condition, and the Silver Streak decals on the hood are intact. Another good thing is that most of the work needed is in the interior where it is less obvious.
ISSUES:
Tires are very loose, and one whitewall has what looks like glue residue.
Some exterior trim parts will need reattachment.
Wipers are mismatched. Windshield area has some glue blobs, and is overall rough looking.
Top and side windows will need to be cleaned up and reassembled.
Dashboard and steering wheel will need to be straightened and reinstalled.
The area under the windshield where the dashboard gets reattached will need to have the glue removed with a Dremel. I believe it is epoxy (sorry, I didn't get pictures). The dash will not fit correctly until it is straightened and the glue on the body is removed.
The interior bucket does not seem to fit the body very well. Removing the glue will probably help.
Original box is missing.
This is being sold as-is. Please study the description and photos.
